Compassionate Elderly Care Since 1980
Hofstra Elderly Care Center
Where every one of our residents is treated like family.
Happy 46th Anniversary, Hofstra Elderly Care Center!
Celebrating 46 years of residential care, questionable decisions, and one very young senior resident.

LOST IN THE FACILITY
Last seen somewhere between the residential care wing and the snack cabinet. If found, please inform Hofstra Elderly Care Center immediately.
We are one of the most reputable elderly-care facilities in the Netherlands, and today we celebrate our 46th anniversary. To mark the occasion, we would also like to celebrate our oldest resident, Lara Hofstra, who, at the age of 95, is still teaching spinning class at SSC.
Unfortunately, we lost her again two days ago, so please give us a call if you happen to find her. We did recover her set of golden dentures at SSC, so we're hoping she hasn't wandered too far.
Happy Birthday Granny ♥️
Company Values
We remember, so she doesn't have to. (She couldn't if she tried.)
Presence
Grandma is a good listener. I'm never sure if her mind is really there. Hopefully it's not dementia. But I'm always sure her soul is there 🤪. She listens deeply and doesn't judge. It's nice to be seen and accepted for who I am around this old lady. A lot of people probably appreciate this old lady, I super appreciate her for this.
Courage
A lot of old people play the game safely. Not this Grandma. She's bold, ambitious, and makes things work. Grandma has a heart and cares deeply. I'm glad her resting heart rate is healthily low. When Grandma believes that something matters, she does something about it.
Playfulness
This is one of my favorite things about Grandma. She does serious, meaningful things, but she hasn't lost her joy. She's lively, curious, expressive and playful. I loved having her at my birthday and watching her just naturally become part of the group.
Generosity
Grandma gives so much of herself to other people. I've seen it in her work and I've experienced it personally too. However, it's time for Grandma to rest a bit now and take that holiday. The old one will get a gift on Tuesday before spinning.
Gerriatric Facility
Support for cognitive deficiencies and questionable romantic choices.
Alongside our residential care, we also operate a gerriatric facility. Members sometimes seek support here for cognitive deficiencies and questionable romantic choices. The facility offers tea, discretion, and parrots.
Non-Negotiable Accessories
Recommended elderly mobility gear to keep our residents rolling. (This part, we take seriously. Mostly.)

Rollator Walker (4-Wheel)
A four-wheeled walker with hand brakes, a padded seat, and a storage pouch. Provides stable support for walking with a built-in place to rest. Ideal for longer distances and outdoor use.
Grandma requests one in pink.

Manual Wheelchair
A standard folding wheelchair with large rear wheels for self-propelling and footrests for comfort. Lightweight frame folds for easy transport and storage.
Comes with a horn. She insists on the horn.

Quad Cane
A walking cane with a four-point base that stands on its own and offers extra stability compared to a single-tip cane. Adjustable height with an ergonomic grip.
Doubles as a pointer for aggressively directing conversations.

Electric Mobility Scooter
A four-wheel powered scooter with a comfortable seat, tiller steering, and a front basket. Great for covering distance with minimal effort, both indoors and outdoors.
Top speed exceeds Grandma's short-term memory retention.

Stair Lift
A motorized chair that travels along a rail installed on a staircase, safely carrying a person between floors. A practical solution for multi-level homes.
She rides it up and down for fun. We allow it.
Consult an actual medical professional before selecting mobility equipment. Do not consult Grandma. She will recommend the scooter every time.
